Every
information which passes from one bank to another is very confidential &
sensitive. There is a need to be hide or monetize that information into a
respective segment. If the information will not be encoded then any hacker can
hack and take out all the information from the bank and bring all the business
to the ground.
So, concerning
these conditions Reserve Bank of India (RBI) bring an eleven characters code in
the presence to overcome such problems. This 11 characters painstakingly
designed to monetize and to be unique. This unique code helps us to identify
the bank origin and the branch of the bank as it is hard to recognize a
particular bank branch in between the millions of bank branches.
In
India, there are hundreds of active banking industries and these hundreds of
banking sector have numerous branches that’s why there was the need to
introduce a code which assists us to recognize both bank branches (Pay User’s
bank account and Payee bank account). This unique code is known as IFSC code
(Indian Financial System Code) which is curiously crafted to be unique.
All the
IFS codes of the bank branch are assigned by RBI (Reserve Bank of India). This
IFS code is so confidential so that after assigning IFSC code to the bank then
it can’t change at any cost.
ReserveBank of India created a set of rules which RBI has to follow while assigning
the IFSC code to the bank. First, the code shout has a unique quality in its
own. Second is that the first 4 digits of this 11 character code should
represent its origin bank means in which banking industries the code belongs.
Third protocol of assigning the code is that the ending part of the code means
ending 6 digits of the code must indicate the branch of the code as it is easy
to understand the bank and the branch as well just only seeing the code.
IFSC
code is used to pay online bills like shopping, groceries, booking, etc. IFS
code is essential for transferring money online from one bank account to
another bank account. The one can easily find the IFSC code into their passbook
as it is embossed on the first printed page of the passbook. The one can also
find the IFSC code on the cheque leaf of the chequebook and the easiest way to
find IFSC code is online.
